PADUCAH -- The Cape Ford & Sons Senior American Legion team dropped a 12-2 decision to Paducah Tuesday night in eight innings.

Paducah, who pounded 10 hits in the game, scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to end the game via the 10-run rule. Ford & Sons, which had four hits and four errors in the field, fell to 5-2 this season.

Craig Ringwald (0-2) pitched six innings and suffered the loss. Jeff Beasley and Jeff Lappe both had run-scoring hits for Cape. Andy Sweet and Ben Gosche had the other two hits.

CHAFFEE -- Another doubleheader sweep Monday night over the Cape SEMO Bank Junior Legion improved the Chaffee Junior American Legion to 9-0 and 5-0 in the district.

Chaffee won the first game 5-4 and the nightcap 9-3.

Dustin Glastetter (1-0) earned win in the first game, pitching 2 1/3 hitless innings of relief. Jeremy Vandeven had two of Chaffee's five hits.

In the late game, John Wipfler ripped two hits and five RBIs to lead Chaffee. Wipfler slugged a three-run triple in the fourth inning to make the score 8-3.

Brian Obermann (3-0) allowed only two hits in five innings, striking out six.
