Southeast Missouri State senior thrower Craig Robinson has been named Ohio Valley Conference field athlete of the week for the second time this season.

Robinson won the weight throw at Saturday's Samford Invitational. He leads the OVC in the event and ranks second in the shot put.

Southeast returns to action Friday with its annual Redhawks Invitational at the Student Recreation Center. Field events begin at 4 p.m., with running events scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. There is no admission charge.

Southeast coach Eric Crumpecker said Memphis will be the only other full squad joining the Redhawks in the field. A few schools will enter a handful of competitors.

The Redhawks use the meet as a tuneup for the OVC Indoor Championships Feb. 22 and 23 in Charleston, Ill.

"Most of our athletes will compete in something but we won't over-work them," Crumpecker said. "The big thing is to be at our best for the OVC."

She posted a 9.800 on bars and a career-best 9.850 on beam to finish with a 38.850 all-around score at BYU. She scored 9.750 or better on three of four events, including another 9.800 on bars, to score 38.450 in the all-around at Boise State.

Southeast will have its second home meet of the season Friday when Midwest Independent Conference rival Illinois State visits Houck Field House for a 6:30 p.m. dual.

Men's basketball

The starting time for Southeast's final home game of the season, the Feb. 23 BracketBuster matchup with Ball State, has been changed to 5:30 p.m. It was originally scheduled for 7 p.m.
