Southeast Missouri State senior Tyler Stone and freshman Antonius Cleveland both earned Ohio Valley Conference honors in back-to-back weeks as they helped the Redhawks to a pair of victories that secured a spot in this week's eight-team basketball tournament.
Stone repeated as OVC Player of the Week after averaging a double-double 18.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in home wins against Austin Peay and Murray State.
He scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the 83-80 win against the Govs and had 17 points and 14 rebounds in the 118-115 double-overtime victory over the Racers.
Cleveland was named OVC Freshman of the Week for the fifth time this season. He averaged 16.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in the Redhawks' victories.
He was 5 of 5 from the field against the Govs and 9 of 14 points against Murray State he scored 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including seven of Southeast's 13 points in the second overtime.
Southeast (8-8, 18-10) gained the sixth seed in the OVC tournament and will play No. 7 Eastern Illinois (7-9, 11-18) in the first round at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
All-OVC teams and award-winners will be announced today by the conference.
