OVC honors Southeast's Farley

Southeast Missouri State sophomore thrower Kevin Farley has been named the Ohio Valley Conference male field athlete of the week.

Farley helped the Redhawks finish first at last weekend's Cougar Classic, hosted by OVC rival SIU Edwardsville. He won both the shot put (55 feet, 6 1/4 inches) and discus (170-11) while placing second in the hammer throw (184-7). The discus and hammer marks represent career bests.

Farley and the Redhawks continue their outdoor season Friday when they start the two-day Oliver Nikoloff Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio.
