OVC honors Southeast Missouri State football player Hamm-Bey

Southeast Missouri State true freshman cornerback Tim Hamm-Bey was named the Ohio Valley Conference newcomer of the week Sunday.

Hamm-Bey had two interceptions in Saturday's 17-13 homecoming win over Austin Peay. The two interceptions doubled the Redhawks' total through the first six games this season.

Hamm-Bey's first career interception came in the third quarter. His 36-yard return gave Southeast possession at the Govs' 22-yard line, and the Redhawks scored the go-ahead touchdown on the next play.

Hamm-Bey's second interception, which he returned 26 yards, came midway through the fourth quarter.
