Southeast Missouri State's first football win of the season, Saturday's 37-34 triple overtime home victory over Murray State, netted the Redhawks Ohio Valley Conference recognition.
Sophomore quarterback Scott Lathrop was named OVC offensive player of the week on Sunday, while true freshman Alex Knight earned specialist of the week honors.
Lathrop, making his second start of the season, had a hand in all five Southeast touchdowns. He threw for a career-high 247 yards and four TDs while running for a game-high 94 yards and a score.
Lathrop is Southeast's first OVC offensive player of the week since quarterback Matt Scheible garnered the award Oct. 2, 2011. Lathrop is also the first Southeast player to throw four TD passes in a game since Houston Lillard accomplished the feat against Austin Peay on Nov. 3, 2007.
Knight, on just his second attempt of the season, kicked the game-winning 30-yard field goal in the third overtime for his first collegiate field goal.
Knight also was perfect on three PATs and two of his five punts pinned the Racers inside the 20-yard line.
Southeast suffered its first OVC loss of the season and saw its six-game unbeaten streak end Sunday when host Morehead State exploded for four second-half goals to beat the Redhawks 5-2.

But things fell apart for the Redhawks early in the second half as MSU scored three times in a span of 1 minute, 13 seconds.
MSU had a 15-8 advantage in shots, including 8-2 in the decisive second half. Southeast held an 8-5 edge in corner kicks.
