The Southeast Missouri State Otahkian basketball team finished the exhibition portion of its schedule, defeating Missouri-St. Louis 75-69 at the Show Me Center Wednesday night.

The Otahkians were led by sophomore forward Year Lori Chase, who scored in 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Chase, only 2-of-10 from the field, converted 14 of 15 from the charity stripe.

LaShelle Porter and Veronica Benson chipped in with 14, points apiece.

Benson gave Southeast a lift in the first half as she scored 10 in the opening frame to give the Otahkians a 36-35 halftime lead.

The game was close in the second half until Porter converted from three-point range with 5:39 remaining the give the Otahkians a six-point lead, their largest of the night.

Leah Boehme led Missouri-St Louis with 14 points while Kate Gwaltney and Lynette Wellen contributed 11 apiece.

Southeast will open the regular season Nov. 17 against Missouri Baptist at 5:30 p.m. at the Show Me Center.
