Southeast Missouri State University's women's soccer team lost a 1-0 overtime decision to Northwestern on Sunday in Evanston, Ill.
Northwestern's Carolyn Hack netted the game's only goal when she scored at the 95:16 mark on a scramble in front of the Southeast goal following a corner kick. The unassisted goal improved Northwestern's record to 4-2. Southeast, which mustered just two shots by Margie Schaeffler in the game -- one in the first half and one in the second -- fell to 3-2.
Northwestern goalie Whitney Jones was not required to make a save in recording the shutout.
Northwestern unloaded 17 shots in the game, and Southeast goalkeeper Amanda Wrzos made seven saves.
Southeast Missouri State University's volleyball team remained winless Saturday with a 30-17, 30-16, 30-23 loss to undefeated Western Kentucky at the Western Kentucky Tournament in Bowling Green, Ky.
Jill Miller, Brittany Hastings, and Jessica Koeper each had eight kills for the Otahkians (0-7). Jamie Baumstark had 30 assists, Koepper added 13 digs, Lauren Scannell had 12 digs and Miller had 10 digs. Baumstark earned all-tournament honors.
Western Kentucky improved to 6-0.
Southeast has been swept its last five losses. After wrapping up play at Western Kentucky, the Otahkians will travel to Carbondale on Tuesday for a match with Southern Illinois.
