The Southeast Missouri State softball team lost for the ninth time in its past 10 games, as visiting Evansville swept a doubleheader in Cape Girardeau on Tuesday, romping 9-2 in both games.
The Otahkians fell to 5-16 and the Aces improved to 25-6.
Katie Markle struck out a season-high 11 batters during a complete game in the opener. Evansville batted through the order on its way to plating seven runs in the top of the second to blow the game open.
In the nightcap, the Aces scored four times in both the fourth and fifth to nail down the sweep.
The Otahkians visit Southern Illinois-Carbondale on Thursday.
Tennis falls to 1-14
Southeast's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to visiting Northwest Missouri State on Monday as the Otahkians fell to 1-14.
The Otahkians lost all six singles matches and all three doubles contests in the non-conference matchup.
Southeast resumes OVC play Thursday, at Murray State. The Otahkians are 1-3 in the league.
