COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Southeast Missouri State University's women's volleyball team won a four-set OVC match Saturday against Tennessee Tech to stay on the heels of conference leader Murray State.
After dropping the first set 5-15, Southeast rebounded to win 16-14, 15-11, 15-7.
In the second set, Tech served for the game three times, leading 14-12 each time. Southeast's ability to rally in the game set the stage for a comeback in the match.
Southeast improved to 19-7 overall and 9-2 in the OVC.
"That was a match we really needed to win," said Southeast coach Cindy Gannon. "This is a hard place to win because Tennessee Tech plays with such emotion here. I feel we're back in the hunt (in the OVC) and back in the driver's seat."
Southeast's Jackie Derwort had a game-high 24 kills and also finished with 21 digs. Tuba Meto collected 56 assists and a team-high 23 digs.
