Southeast Missouri State University's defense made the most of its third-place game in the two-day Coca-Cola Billiken Classic on Saturday.
The Otahkians (6-3) forced 30 turnovers by Gardner-Webb, built a 47-22 halftime lead and breezed to a 98-63 win at St. Louis University.
Southeast, which had a four-game winning streak snapped a day earlier in a 82-71 loss to Indiana State, got double-figure scoring by four players. Carina Souza led all scorers with 26 points; teammate Lori Chase added 17, Tiffanne Ryan had 14 and LaShelle Porter had 13.
Porter's 10 rebounds was a team-high.
Brooke Anderson had 18 points for Gardner-Webb (1-8).
