SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Southeast Missouri State University's volleyball team finished 2-2 in the five-team Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational Saturday.
The round-robin event, held at Southwest Missouri State's Hammons Student Center, concludes with a match today.
On Friday, Wichita State defeated Southeast 8-15, 15-13, 15-6, 8-15, 15-5. The Otahkians then beat Hofstra 15-8, 15-8, 15-9.
In the Wichita State match, Southeast's Amy Henken established a tournament record with 69 assists, breaking former Southeast setter Tuba Meto's mark of 60 in 1997. And against Hofstra Angie Aschoff produced a tournament- and Hammons-record .818 hitting percentage (18 of 22).
On Saturday, Southeast beat Southwest 15-4, 15-1, 15-4 and lost to Colorado State 12-15, 14-16, 6-15.
Against Southwest, Krista Haukap had 10 kills and Aschoff and Lea Beckemeyer each added nine. Jackie Derwort tallied 10 digs.
In the Colorado State loss, Aschoff and Haukap had, respectively, 12 and 11 kills and 17 and 14 digs.
