Five members of the Oran baseball team, which finished third in Class 1, were selected to the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters' Class 1 all-state teams.

Senior Steven Dooley was chosen as a first-team pitcher. Dooley posted a 5-0 record with a 1.79 earned run average in 47 innings on the mound.

Senior Kody Campbell, who hit leadoff for the Eagles and will play baseball at Southeast Missouri State next season, was picked as a first-team infielder. He batted .543 with seven home runs and 35 RBIs.

Junior Jayden Pobst was selected as a first-team outfielder. Pobst hit a team-high nine home runs after receiving just seven plate appearances the previous spring as a sophomore. He batted .376 and had 38 RBIs.

Senior Tyler Beardslee was selected as a Class 1 first-team DH/utility player. He hit .389 with eight homers and 41 RBIs.

Senior Caleb Seyer made it as a second-team catcher.

State champion Rams

Class 2 state champion Scott City had four players on the all-state teams.

Senior Cody Carlyle was selected as a first-team catcher. Carlyle hit cleanup and had a .582 batting average with seven homers and a .707 on base percentage. Carlyle also made just two errors behind the plate.

Junior Shae Simmons was picked as a first-team infielder. Simmons, the Rams' leadoff hitter, played shortstop and batted .520 with three homers and a .616 on base percentage. He stole 20 bases.

Simmons was also the Rams' No. 2 pitcher, posting a 7-0 record with a 1.57 earned run average in 44 2/3 innings. Simmons was the winning pitcher in the state championship game.

Senior Ryan Modglin was selected as a first-team DH/utility player. He batted .622 with 10 homers and 47 RBIs. He had a .702 on base percentage.

Modglin was also the Rams' ace on the mound. He posted an 8-1 record with a 0.28 earned run average in 58 innings on the mound. He struck out 109 batters.

Junior Josh Henson was picked as a second-team DH/utility player.

Others all-staters

Notre Dame junior Dylan Drury was selected to the Class 3 all-state second team as a DH/utility player. Drury helped Notre Dame to a tie for third place in Class 3.

Central senior Garrett Stevens was selected as a Class 4 second-team outfielder. Central lost to Jackson in the first round of districts.
