Oran's baseball team continued to pound opponents Tuesday as the Eagles used 18 hits, including nine for extra bases, to rout visiting Oak Ridge 28-1 in five innings.

The Eagles (6-1) scored 11 runs in the first to seal the game for starter Ryne Wood. Wood went four innings for the win and he helped himself offensively with two hits, including a home run.

Garrett Roslen went 3-for-4, and Trey Graviett was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a homer.

Tyler Nelson also homered and had two hits. Others with two hits were Nathan Seyer and Matt Seyer.

Bell City 9, Advance 6

Ryan Hubbard hit a key three-run triple in the bottom of the sixth to give Bell City a win on the road.

The Cubs (4-2) jumped in front 4-2 after one inning with the help of a three-run double by freshman Blaine Stewart. Advance slowly chipped at Bell City's lead until tying the score at six in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run by Daniel Sexton.

Ben Duncan went four innings to pick up the win for Bell City. Jack Daniels went 2-for-4 for the Cubs, and Rylan Dunivan went 2-for-4 for Advance.

Leopold 10, Bloomfield 5

A.J. Seiler struck out four in five innings as Leopold cruised at home.

The Wildcats (4-4) jumped ahead 10-0 after three innings before allowing Bloomfield to score five runs over the final three innings. Leopold scored 10 runs on just five hits and were aided by 12 walks.

Lucas Horrell went 2-for-2 for Leopold with two RBIs and Josh Van de Ven added two RBIs.

Dexter 11, Chaffee 4

Chaffee dipped to 5-5 with a road loss as Dexter used a five-run fourth inning to break the game open.

Zac Horman was the losing hurler and he also homered.

SOFTBALL

Leopold 11, Bloomfield 1

The Wildcats ran their season-opening unbeaten streak to seven games with a five-inning win at home.

Jessica Stoverink picked up her fourth win by throwing a compete-game one-hitter.

Laurie Vandermierden had a big day offensively for the Wildcats by going 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Amanda Dunn and Becky Seiler had two hits apiece for Leopold.

Advance 7, Bell City 6

Advance scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to win at home.

After tying the score at five in the fifth, the Hornets (7-2) saw their lead disappear when the Cubs scored a run in the top half of the seventh. Amy Winchester's key triple got the ball rolling for the Hornets in the seventh and recovered for the win.

Alicia Broshuis pitched a complete game for the victory, striking out seven and adding a home run on offense. Angela Broshuis was Advance's lone multi-hit player at 2-for-3.

TRACK AND FIELD

Scott City Meet

Loren Groves blew away the competition to lead Scott City to a sweep of the boys and girls divisions at the Scott City Meet.

Groves dominated the 100 and 300 hurdles, the shot put and discus. Groves' winning discus throw topped her nearest competitor by more than 50 feet. Chaffee's Natalie Townsend won the triple jump and long jump. Kelly's Rachel Kline won the other jumping event, the high jump.

Kelly's Nathan Lewer had a big day in the boys division. Lewer swept the jumping events by winning the long jump, high jump and triple jump.

Jackson-Sikeston dual

Jackson and visiting Sikeston split decisions, Sikeston's boys winning 106-44 and Jackson's girls rolling 102-42.

James Fortner highlighted the Jackson boys side with a first place finish in the high jump to go along with two silver medals in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. Ben Crader won the shot put for Jackson, Stuart McIntosh took the pole vault, and Issac Venabel captured the 800.

The Jackson girls had more gold on their side as they won three of the four team relays. Nicole Fadler took three events, the 1,600 and 3,200 runs and 3,200 relay. Trisha Kluesner was first in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, Heather West captured the long jump and triple jump, and Rachael Lowes won the 400 and 200.

Other Jackson winners were Sarah Duemy (high jump), Jenna Holt (100), Amy West (pole vault), Rebecca Martin (shot put) and Ashley Meyr (800).

GOLF

Jackson 152, Dexter 157, Sikeston 165

Jackson continued its strong play by winning the a triangular at Sikeston Country Club.

Blake McDowell led the Indians with a 36. Chad Reiminger and Matt Litzelfelner shot 37's and Eric Fraley rounded out Jackson's top four with a 42.

Dexter's Tyler Holden had the top score with a 35.

Poplar Bluff 153, Central 159, Notre Dame 175

Todd Obergoenner and Tyson Seabaugh shot 39s as Central placed second in a triangular meet at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Poplar Bluff's Josh Dowdy had the low score of the day with a 36.

Notre Dame's low score was a 41 by Will Lindman.

GIRLS SOCCER

Jackson 2, Perryville 0

Erin Mayfield and Molly Hartmann scored goals to lead the Indians in a road victory.

Elizabeth Nussbaum had an assist for the Indians (9-2) while goalkeeper Whitney Werner recorded the shutout.
