The Oran softball team saw its season come to an end with a 3-0 loss in a Class 1 state quarterfinal Saturday. The Eagles fell to Walnut Grove in an attempt to reach the final four. CROSS COUNTRY Farmington meet

Wynn McClellan paced the Notre Dame boys with a first-place finish, crossing the line in 16 minutes, 41 seconds. He didn't have to wait long to see a familiar face as teammates Logan Davis and Ryan Johnson took the next two spots.

Dillon Klaffer was fifth and Matt Reinagel sixth for Notre Dame. Austin Seabaugh led Delta with a 24th-place finish.

Kristin Dippold finished seventh to pace the Saxony Lutheran girls team. Notre Dame's Tara Grojean was 10th.

BOYS SOCCER Notre Dame 3, Clayton 1

Brock Dirnberger scored a goal and assisted on another as the Bulldogs improved to 16-3.

Joda Holloway and Josh Robert also scored for the victors. Blake Kirkpatrick and John Unterreiner earned assists.

Ryan Bass made five saves for Notre Dame.

VOLLEYBALL SCC tournament

Bell City rallied to win the second game, but Dexter won the decisive third game to capture the Stoddard County Conference tournament title.

Jasmine Johnson led the Cubs with 18 kills, while Sherilyn Long recorded 17 digs.

Codie Lancaster put up 28 assists for Bell City (17-7-2).

Game scores were 25-14, 18-25, 25-16.

Festus tournament

Jackson went 3-2 to finish fifth out of 15 teams in Festus.

The Indians defeated North County, Bayless and Civic Memorial, while falling to Oakville and De Soto.

Jackson is 14-14 this season.

BOYS SWIMMING

Central's Caleb Coots won the 500 freestyle to pace the Tigers to an eighth-place finish.

Notre Dame finished sixth behind its 200 medley relay team's second-place finish.

Sam Gramling took second in the 200 freestyle for Central.
