ORAN -- The Oran Eagles find themselves in a familiar position, the final of the Class 1 District 2 baseball tournament.
Host Oran -- winners of eight of the past 12 district titles -- advanced with an 8-3 victory over Bernie in Tuesday's semifinal round.
Defending champion Advance, which derailed the Eagles' quest for a fourth straight title last season, set up a rematch with a 3-2 win over Chaffee in the other semifinal. Top-seeded Oran and No. 2 Advance will play for the championship at 4 p.m. Thursday.
The Eagles (22-4) led 8-0 after six innings as the Mules (11-5) got on the board with three unearned runs in their final at-bat.
The Eagles opened the scoring with three first-inning runs.
Chase Seyer's one-hop single past the second baseman drove home Caleb Seyer, aboard on a walk, then Joey Williams' two-run double delivered Kody Campbell and Chase Seyer to send Oran up 3-0.
The Eagles tacked on a fourth run in the second on starting and winning pitcher Austin Dumey's RBI single.
Williams stroked a one-out double in the third and came home on Chris Asmus' single for a 5-0 lead.
Campbell led off the fourth with a triple in the right-field corner and scored on a single by Dumey.
Chase Seyer then crushed a two-run homer to right field for an 8-0 lead.
Dumey went the distance, allowing no earned runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and no walks.
Dumey also helped himself at the plate, topping the 14-hit Oran offense with a 3-for-4, two-RBI day.
