Things are getting tighter, but the Kohlfeld Capahas still haven't been able to beat O.B. Clark on the baseball field in 1996.
The defending National Baseball Congress state champion team from St. Louis made it three in a row against the Capahas Friday night when they rallied for a 9-8, 10-inning victory at Capaha Park.
Brian Schaefer's grand slam in the sixth put the Capahas ahead 6-3 and they later opened up an 8-3 lead after seven innings.
But O.B. Clark rallied for three in the eighth and two in the ninth to force extra innings, then scored the winning run in the 10th.
Starter Richie Phillips pitched into the ninth inning for the Capahas. Reliever Ricky Pecaut suffered the loss.
The Capahas will have their old-timers game at 6 o'clock tonight and then face Granite City (Ill.) at 8:30.
