Notre Dame's boys soccer season came to an end with a 1-0 loss to Farmington in the first round of the Class 2 District 1 tournament Monday in Farmington, Mo.
The fifth-seeded Knights scored the game's lone goal about 10 minutes into the second half when a header found the net off a free kick.
"It was a heartbreaker of a game," said longtime Notre Dame coach Brad Wittenborn, who coached the Bulldogs for the final time. "We had pretty good control. We outshot them like 26-3. I don't think our goalie touched the ball in the first half."
The fourth-seeded Bulldogs, who had beaten Farmington 2-0 during the regular season, closed their season at 15-9.
