Notre Dame soccer clips St. Pius 2-1 with OT goal

Meridith Medlin scored three minutes into overtime on an assist from Taylor Sanders to give Notre Dame a 2-1 win Monday at St. Pius.

Medlin also scored the Bulldogs' goal in regulation from Destiny Dirnberger. Claudia Brauss had nine saves in goal.

Notre Dame improved to 7-2.

Perryville 7, North County 0

Kendra Schilli had a hat trick and two assists in a home win.

Lindsay Martin, Alicia Kueker, Chelsey Marr and Becca Hanquist added goals for the Pirates (7-3). Hanquist, Marr, Kueker and Nicole Gremaud (2) had assists.

Chastity Marr made two saves, including a late penalty kick, for the shutout.

JV -- Perryville won 5-0.

Caleb Seyer had four hits, including a home run, and three RBIs in a home win.

Kody Campbell and Chase Seyer added three hits apiece for the Eagles (10-1), and Tyler Beardslee and Steven Dooley had two hits each. Dooley added three RBIs.

Chris Asmus pitched the first three innings for the win. Asmus struck out six and allowed one earned run.

Shelby Kight had a two-run home run for the Bobcats.

The Rams (7-1) scored five unearned runs on four Leopold errors. Emily Essner kept Leopold's offense in check with 13 strikeouts in a complete-game three-hitter. Essner walked none.

Chelsi Bradley had two hits for Scott City.

Casey Bucher had two hits for the Wildcats (6-2). Whitney Vandeven surrendered one earned run, struck out six and walked four in seven innings for the loss.

Matt Deisher jumped 10 feet to take the pole vault crown, Thomas McElmurry won the 100 hurdles in 15.57 seconds and the team of Lavonzo Martin, McElmurry, James Poindexter and Zach Horrell won the 800 relay.
