Perryville scored first, but visiting Notre Dame responded with four straight goals to prevail 4-1 Monday in girls soccer.

The Bulldogs, who tied Perryville early in the season, claimed their 11th straight victory and improved to 13-1-1.

"We've been playing really good," Notre Dame coach Jeff Worley said.

The Pirates scored first on a goal by Jodie Amschler.

"We held our composure and bounced back real well form that early goal," Worley said.

Sierra Ellis responded with two goals and an assist. Notre Dame's other goals were scored by Lauren Mehner and Amanda Dirnberger, with assists from Allison Essner and Kristen Boos.

"Sierra played a good game," Worley said. "So did our goalkeeper, Katie Palmer. We only have six saves recorded, but she made some big stops."

Notre Dame won the junior varsity game 2-1. The Bulldogs (4-3-4) got goals from Katlyn Scheeter and Mattie Neff with an assist by Danielle Schumer.

TRACK AND FIELD

Notre Dame sweeps

Notre Dame's girls set or tied school records in three events and won its own meet.

Ashley Millham eclipsed her own school record in the high jump with a jump of 4 feet, 10 inches. Katie Daniel set a school record in 52.84 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles. Emily Bira tied the school record in the 100, clocking 13.07.

Central, which did not field its normal roster and sent primarily younger athletes, finished second in front of Charleston and Egyptian, Ill.

Notre Dame also won the boys division ahead of Charleston, Egyptian and Central.

Notre Dame's boys won three of four relay events to help its team total, capturing the 800, 1,600 and 3,200. C.J. Harper participated on all three teams.

Adam Prasanphanich and Tyler Cuba finished one-two in the 100 with times of 10.75 and 10.93, respectively.

GIRLS SWIMMING

Central 103, Notre Dame 50, Mehlville 38

Jackie Erlacker qualified for the state meet with a diving score of 224 to highlight a win in a home tri-meet.

The Tigers got two wins apiece from Katie Maginel and Cassie Kipper. Kipper won the 200 free and 100 backstroke and Maginel won the 50 free and 100 butterfly. Brianna LeGrand won the 500 free, Brett Ford won the 100 breaststroke and Sarah Goeke won the 100 free for the Tigers. Central also won the medley relay and 200 free relay.

Notre Dame got wins from Janelle Essner in the 200 IM and the 400 free relay team.

SOFTBALL

Advance 10, Dexter 0

Dana Williams and Alisha Broshuis combined for a six-inning no-hitter and 11 strikeouts as Advance (10-3) romped at home.

Williams also hit a home run and a double, while Angela Broshuis was 4-for-4.

GOLF

Area district tournaments

Notre Dame and Jackson will host district tournaments this week at Bent Creek Golf Course in Jackson.

Jackson is the host for today's Class 4, District 1 Tournament, set for an 8:30 a.m. start.

Competing along with the Indians will be Central, Farmington, Fox, Lindbergh, Mehlville, Northwest, Oakville, Poplar Bluff and Seckman.

Notre Dame is the host for Thursday's Class 3, District 1 Tournament, which also begins at 8:30 a.m.

Joining the Bulldogs in the field are New Madrid County Central, Dexter, Festus, Fredericktown, Herculaneum, North County, Perryville, Sikeston, St. Pius and Ste. Genevieve.

The top two teams in each district, along with the top five individuals not on those teams, qualify for the state meets May 19 and 20.

OTHER EVENTS

Central's ninth-grade boys track team finished third in the SEMO Conference meet meet in Sikeston. Sikeston won the event, and Poplar Bluff was second.

Several Central athletes won their events: Beau Jordan (400 dash); Lance Altenthal (pole vault); Clayton Hill, Eddie Glenn, Darris Gerlach, Jordan (1,600 relay); Drew Elizalde (discus).

Central's seventh- and eighth-grade boys track teams finished second in the SEMO Conference meet at Sikeston. Jackson won the meet with 82.5 points and Central had 72. Poplar Bluff (50) and Sikeston (29.5) were third and fourth.

Central's winning athletes were Allen Walker (100, 200, long jump); Tyler Terry (triple jump) and Tony Preston (shot put).

Central's seventh- and eighth-grade girls finished second behind Jackson as well. Sikeston was third and Poplar Bluff fourth.

Nicole Jackson (400) and Jennifer Willis (triple jump) were the only two first place-finishers for Central.
