MEADOW HEIGHTS 12-15-15
LEOPOLD 15-4-4
LEOPOLD, Mo. -- It took the Lady Panthers three sets to pull off a win in a battle of Bollinger County rivals.
Meadow Heights coach Erin Hoffman thought her team may have been a little too confident going into the match.
"After the season we had last year, we think we're unbeatable," said Hoffman, referring to the Lady Panthers' 32-3 campaign last year. "We were too cocky. We walked in there thinking it would be easy and it wasn't. That loss woke them up a little bit."
Holly Boyd had 12 kills and six kill blocks for the Lady Panthers (9-1), while Ashley Brune had eight kills and five kill blocks.
For Leopold (6-2-1), Holly Jansen had 10 kills, Courtney Wesbecher had seven and Kyla Horrell had six. Wendy Vandeven posted 17 assists.
