CHAFFEE -- Notre Dame's girls basketball team's inside game proved too much for Chaffee Thursday night.
Deana McCormick, a 5-foot-10 freshman, finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds as Notre Dame dominated Chaffee 70-26.
Jill Huber also had 18 points as Notre Dame improved to 13-12, dropping Chaffee to 10-12.
"The kids played hard," Notre Dame coach Jerry Grim said. "Talent was just a little different between the two teams."
Jill Little and Stevie Burks each had 10 points for Chaffee.
Scott Co. Central 61, Delta 30
DELTA -- Scott County Central burst out to a 22-6 lead in the first quarter on its way to victory Thursday.
The Bravettes, four of whom scored in double figures, led 32-16 at halftime and built on the lead in each of the final two quarters.
Katie Griffin and Brandy Miller each had 16 points for Scott Central (12-9) while Ashley Whitson netted 15 and Lekeya Turner tallied 10.
Amanda Cook and Kristin Fish each scored 10 points for Delta (8-16).
Oran 37, St. Vincent 23
PERRYVILLE -- Sara Heisserer totaled 17 points as Oran held off host St. Vincent.
Oran (8-10) led 15-9 at halftime and 20-15 entering the fourth quarter before outscoring the Squaws 17-8 in the final period.
For St. Vincent (4-20), Jessica Lakenan and Cari Strattman each had six points.
Boys basketball
Zalma 67, Meadow Heights 65
PATTON -- Meadow Heights twice in the final seconds missed the front end of one-and-one free throw opportunities, and Zalma escaped with the victory.
Meadow Heights dropped to 3-19.
For Zalma, Josh Smith had a game-high 24 points, Tim Burchett had 14, Chris Canoy 11 and Adam Wallace 10. J.D. Brune had 21 points for Meadow Heights, Seth Revelle 12 and Cody Thompson 11.
Kelly 73, Bell City 54
BELL CITY -- Bell City's Jarrod Eftink hit seven 3-pointers and had 25 points, but Kelly handled the Cubs.
Kelly's Jason Glastetter had 20 points, Russ Mothershead 19 and Jim Hulshof 13. Kelly led 22-12 after one quarter and 42-27 at the break.
Nathan Walter added 10 points for Bell City (5-17).
Doniphan 65, Charleston 51
DONIPHAN -- Second-seeded Doniphan ended the season for third-seeded Charleston Thursday night in semifinal action of the Class 3A, District 1 tournament. No further details were available at press time.
