Notre Dame's girls basketball team knocked off another area powerhouse Thursday with a 68-40 home rout of Jackson.

The Bulldogs beat state-ranked Doniphan on Monday, and on Thursday the Bulldogs outscored Jackson 36-11 in the second half to end the Indians' 11-game winning streak.

"This was a good win for us," Notre Dame coach Jerry Grim said.

Notre Dame led just 32-29 at halftime, but the Bulldogs outscored Jackson 16-1 in the third quarter to pull away. Kristain Burger led Notre Dame (11-6) with 23 points, Meridith Medlin had 15 and Claudia Brauss added 10.

Kelci Keith and Ashley Charboneau led Jackson (12-4) with eight points apiece.

Stoddard County tourney

Top seeds Bell City and Advance moved on to the finals of the Stoddard County Activities Association tournament with semifinals wins Thursday at Bloomfield.

The finals are 8:30 p.m. tonight.

Top-seeded Bell City routed No. 5 Dexter 69-31. Nick Niemcyzk led the Cubs with 18 points, Will Bogan had 17 and Phillip Gross had 13. Bell City moved to 14-4 with its 10th straight win.

Second-seeded Advance blew open a close game through three quarters with a 23-12 scoring edge in the fourth quarter. The Hornets led 36-33 after three quarters.

David VanGennip led Advance with 17 points and Alex Steil had 16.

Central brought home a pair of state-cuts in a quad win at the Central Municipal Pool.

The 200 medley relay of Susan Beth Scott, Jessie Baker, Hannah Kinder and Annie Wolpers made the cut with a winning time of 2 minutes, 2.91 seconds. Scott, a freshman, also made a state cut in the 200 freestyle with a winning time of 2:06.49.

Kinder also won a pair of events for the Tigers in the 100 and 50 free, Baker won the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, and Mary Catherine Ford won the 100 backstroke.

Notre Dame won the 200 freestyle relay and Emily Huber won the diving competition with a score of 191.25.

Maria Esswein won the 100 butterfly for St. Vincent.
