Top-seeded Notre Dame survived a back-and-forth battle with No. 2 Meadow Heights to claim the title of the Woodland Invitational boys basketball tournament 77-72 in overtime on Friday.
The Bulldogs made twice as many field goals (34-17), but the Panthers drained eight 3-pointers compared to none for Notre Dame.
Frankie Ellis scored 23 points for Notre Dame (2-0), Alex Ressel had 18 and Ryan Willen added 11.
Anthony Bollinger had 28 points for Meadow Heights (3-2) and reached the 1,000-point plateau for his career. Nathan Revelle had 16 points and Terry Wagner added 11.
No. 5 Woodland defeated No. 6 Leopold 73-65 in overtime to claim third place.
Seth Gaines had seven 3-pointers and totaled 32 points for Woodland, while Chantz Barham and Jordan King added 11 apiece.
Mac Stoverink led Leopold with 15 points, Victor Vandeven had 12, Eric Seiler had 14 and Tyler Clubb added 10.
In the consolation championship, third-seeded Delta topped No. 4 Oak Ridge 61-45. Aaron Kinder led the Bobcats with 19 points and Terrence Below added 10. For Oak Ridge, Austin Hahs scored 23 points.
