Notre Dame continued its fine play on the road to the district playoffs with a straight-set 15-8, 15-13 victory over Bloomfield Monday night at Notre Dame High School.

The victory was the Lady Bulldogs' seventh straight and improved their record to 16-7-4.

"We're on a roll, this is where we should be," said Notre Dame coach Helen Payne speaking of her team's recent performance. "We're healthy now and this is a good bunch of kids. It's been a good experience."

Notre Dame was led by Courtney Vickery with 10 kills, Jennifer VanGennip with seven and Ashley Millham with six. Ali Tyson contributed 15 assists.

Notre Dame's JV squad won easily, 15-3 and 15-5.

Meadow Heights 15-15Advance 6-2

PATTON, Mo. Meadow Heights' record climbed to 28-2 with a sweep of Advance.

Jessica Bollinger led the way with nine kills, three digs and three kill-blocks. Holly Boyd added six kills, three digs and four kill-blocks. Jamie Fulton finished with 20 assists and four digs.

Meadow Heights also breezed to victory in the JV contest, winning 15-0, 15-2.

Oak Ridge 15-15Oran 8-13

OAK RIDGE, Mo. Oak Ridge (8-14) notched its second win of the season over visiting Oran.

The Lady Blue Jays' Allison Miles and Laura Glueck had five kills each, while Alana Hobeck led in assists with 19.

Erin Pavelka scored 15 service points.

Oak Ridge's JV team lost in three sets, 7-15, 15-12 and 2-15.

Bernie 15-15Woodland 3-6

MARBLE HILL, Mo. Woodland bowed to always strong Bernie in straight sets.

The Lady Cardinals' record fell to 9-14-3.

Emily Davis with four kills, and Danyel Farrell with four digs and eight assists, led the Woodland effort.

Woodland's junior varsity lost 12-15, 6-15.

Leopold 15-16St. Vincent 11-14

LEOPOLD, Mo. Leopold, playing rather lackluster volleyball recently, came to life in a highly competitive match against St. Vincent.

"We've been in a little rut lately, but tonight we didn't let down and played as a team," said Leopold assistant coach Libby Robinson.

The Lady Wildcats (17-7-3) were led by front-row mates Jessica Bollinger with 10 blocks,seven kills and Holly Jansen with 10 kills. Jodi VanGennip came up with eight digs and Laura Jansen had 19 assists.

Leopold's JV lost in three sets 15-8, 4-15, 13-15.

Poplar Bluff 15-15Cape Central 8-7

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. The Lady Tigers' play was much-improved but not enough to gain a win.

Cape Central fell to 2-17, but a ray of hope was seen by coach Heidi Knaak.

"Our defense played really well," said Knaak. Hopefully this match will be a motivator for us going into district play."

Sarah Brown led the Lady Tigers with six service points, four blocks and three digs. Allison Eaton had three kills, three blocks and two digs while Amy Marchbank recorded three kills and three digs.

Crystal City 15-14-15Perryville 12-16-12

PERRYVILLE, Mo. The Lady Pirates came up short in a match they figured to win over a mediocre Crystal City squad.

"We had a total lack of communication tonight and were very inconsistent," said Perryville coach Amy Birk.

Perryville (8-16) was led by Katie Kutz with eight kills and 10 digs and Natalie Bohnert with eight kills and and five blocks.

Perryville's JV lost its match in straight sets by identical 10-15 scores.

Sikeston 12-15-15Bell City 15-10-11

BELL CITY, Mo. Bell City (10-14) dropped a close three-setter to visiting Sikeston.

The Lady Cubs' Whitney Abner had an outstanding all-around game with seven kills, 14 digs and 25 assists. Katie Spears led in kills with 19. Brooke Stephens scored 25 service points in 32 attempts.

Bell City's JV squad won the first game 15-4, and rallied from a 4-14 deficit in the second game to win16-14 to improve to 14-9.
