PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Notre Dame's boys basketball team held off Sikeston 60-58 Wednesday night to advance to the championship game of the Class 4, District 1 tournament.
The third-seeded Bulldogs (11-16) will meet top-seeded Dexter in Friday's 7:30 p.m. title contest at the Perry Park Center. Dexter (21-5) beat No. 5 Fredericktown 70-48 in the other semifinal.
"It feels good to be in the finals," Notre Dame coach Paul Hale said. "Dexter is a good team, but I think we've got a shot at 'em."
Bryce Willen led Notre Dame with 25 points and Alex Ressel added 13. Willen only recently returned to action after missing most of the season with a serious knee injury.
"He's still only about 60 percent. He doesn't have his explosiveness," Hale said. "But he's really helped us coming back."
Second-seeded Sikeston (9-15) got 19 points from Julian Beard.
