In a battle of top area girls soccer teams Monday night, Notre Dame defeated host Jackson 1-0 to hand the Indians their first defeat of the year and avenge an early-season loss.
The game was scheduled to be played at Notre Dame, but standing water on the Bulldogs' field caused the contest to be moved.
Notre Dame improved to 6-1-1, while Jackson fell to 5-1. The Indians beat the Bulldogs 4-0 in the season-opening Notre Dame Tournament.
"It was a heck of a game, and a big win for us," Notre Dame coach Jeff Worley said. "It was a big comeback for us after losing to them so bad earlier."
Amanda Dirnberger scored the game's only goal off an assist from Brittney Little with about 12 minutes remaining. Katie Palmer recorded the shutout.
Jackson's junior varsity won 1-0.
