ORAN -- Chris Nichols scored 22 points to lead four players in double figures as Oran High's boys basketball team picked up a 78-64 win over visiting East Prairie Tuesday night.

Daniel Wheeler followed with 16 points for the Eagles while Travis Friga and Billy Loper added 13 apiece.

Oran led just 31-28 at halftime but broke the game open with a 27-13 edge in the third quarter.

The Eagles host Delta Friday night.

Cape 8th grade sweeps

Cape Central's eighth grade swept a pair of games from visiting Farmington Wednesday, the `A' team prevailing 50-44 in overtime and the `B' team romping 50-23.

In the `A' game, Willie Colon's 3-pointer at the regulation buzzer forced overtime. Colon had 12 points while Wayne Wiggins led the way with 15. Darrell Porter and Adrian Wren both added nine as the `A' team improved to 2-4.

Corey Bowman scored 13 points and Travis Johnston added 11 for the `B' squad, which is now 3-0.
