The Neelyville Tigers returned to the hardwood on Monday to host their annual basketball Jamboree.

The Tigers welcomed the Kelly Hawks and the Advance Hornets for a few games of competition to warm up for the 2023–2024 basketball season.

With tryouts and the first practice out the way, Neelyville’s head coach Brad Burdin said it felt great to finally get back on the floor and compete against other players.

“I’m excited to see the guys back on the floor, we’ve worked hard to get ready for the season,” Burdin said. “It's fun to come out and play against some competition like Kelly and Advance, for which I'm thankful they came. My guys have only played against the JV team, so it felt great for them to test their skills against some varsity talent. We’re just ready to get going.”

Burdin said he’s looking forward to seeing the team's intensity this season. He said his team is tough, and with a roster full of juniors and one senior, he aims to use their experience for a successful season.

The Tigers will host their first home game against Campbell High School on December 5th.
