The Tigers closed their spring season with a 13-12 record and fell short in the championship to the Bernie Mules. The Tigers were led by two seniors and alongside them were two breakout players, which Neelyville will have the pleasure of seeing them again next season.

Senior Austin Sheppard, Preston Goodnight, sophomore Bryce Dollins and freshman Zak Cowley all made All-District for Class 2 District 1.

Coach Gary Dubar said when he took the job no one expected the Tigers to be a threat but towards the postseason, Neelyville turned many heads with their solid play.

“Austin and Preston were two pretty special players for us when we needed them,” Dubar said. “Bryce stepped up big time for us. He threw for some very important games from the mound and hit the ball consistently all year. Our freshman Zak came out strong during the postseason. His district batting average was insane, but having these four guys on the team was a big deal for us.”
