Notre Dame's Carly Hopkins and Madeline Walker finished seventh in the Class 1 state doubles tournament on Saturday at Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Missouri.
Hopkins, who made her third straight doubles state tournament, also took seventh in last year's tournament with former partner Reagan Kapp.
The duo defeated Hally Piontek and Anna Mori of Warrensburg 6-2, 6-1 in the opening round of the tournament on Friday.
Brittany Green and Merrit Stahle of Villa Duchesne, the eventual second-place finshers, were too much to handle for Hopkins and Walker in the quarterfinals. Hopkins and Walker fell to the consolation bracket after losing in straight sets.
Hopkins and Walker defeated Maria Montgomery and Natalie Barr of Barat Academy 6-1, 6-3 in the consolation quarterfinals to close out Friday's action.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs' No. 1 doubles squad faced off against Emily Lee and Sarah Mirkhaef from MICDS. The Bulldogs won the first set 6-1 but lost in a 7-4 tiebreaker. The Rams closed out the Bulldogs with a 6-2 win.
In the seventh-place match, Hopkins and Walker made quick work of Abby Dowden and Lauren Highfill from Helias Catholic, downing them in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
