Notre Dame and Windsor won Class 3, District 1 softball tournament semifinal games Friday to advance to today's championship at noon at Notre Dame.

No. 1 seed Notre Dame defeated No. 4 St. Pius 5-0 after building a 4-0 lead in the second inning. Lindsay Reinagel pitched the win (three hits, one strikeout, no walks) while Stacy Seyer was 2-for-3.

No. 2 Windsor won the other semifinal 7-0 over No. 3 Herculaneum.

Class 2, District 1 tourn.

After Thursday's first round was rained out, St. Vincent's field was still too wet Friday, so action was moved to St. Pius in Festus, where No. 3 seed Principia hammered No. 6 Crystal City 15-0 in three innings and No. 4 East Prairie routed No. 5 Career Academy 14-4 in five innings.

The semifinals and finals will be played today, again at St. Pius. No. 2 St. Vincent plays Principia at 10 a.m. and No. 1 Kelly faces East Prairie at 11:30 a.m. The championship willbe at about 1 p.m.

BOYS' SOCCER

Central 2, Hickman 1

Jordan Duncan's unassisted goal 10 minutes into the second half broke a 1-1 tie and lifted Central (11-5-1) to a victory in Columbia, Mo.

Calen Wills, with an assist from Rob Petzoldt, scored late in the first half to give the Tigers a 1-0 halftime lead. Hickman tied it early in the second half.

Central's JV battled Hickman to a scoreless tie.

The Tigers will remain in Columbia to play at Rock Bridge at noon today.

VOLLEYBALL

Meadow Hgts. 14-15-15, Zalma 16-3-13

Meadow Heights (10-9) pushed its record above .500 by rallying past host Zalma.

The Panthers' JV won 15-9, 15-3.

Oran 13-15-15, Oak Ridge 15-10-9

Oran (7-10-3) lost the first game but rallied past host Oak Ridge (4-13-1).

Teresa Hodges had 12 service points, five kills and two blocks for the Eagles while Jessica Prino served nine points and recorded 11 assists. Carmen Duncan added seven points and five kills while Amber Seyer had four kills.

Oak Ridge's JV also won, 15-7, 15-4.

Central 15-5, Oak Ridge 4-3

In a Thursday match, the Tigers posted two-game varsity and JV victories. Anna Brisso (nine kills), Courtney Edge (eight blocks), Andrea Niswonger (13 assists) and Chelsey Oliver (13 service points) led the varsity team.

Central's JV defeatedOak Ridge 15-13, 15-6.
