ND inducts three former standouts into Hall

~ Robert, Siebert and Lynch were recognized at Saturday's Shootout.

The three newest members of Notre Dame Regional High School's Hall of Fame each have a state championship on his athletic resume.

Bruce Robert, a 1983 graduate, joined 1985 graduate Scott Siebert and 1988 graduate Paul Lynch as this year's Hall inductees. They were recognized Saturday during the Notre Dame Shootout girls basketball event.

Robert was part of the 1983 baseball team that won the first state championship in school history. He played baseball for three years, basketball for two seasons and ran track for one year. He was the basketball team MVP as a senior when he averaged 14.5 points per game and won the defensive player award.

Robert, a 1987 graduate of Southeast Missouri State, is a partner at Red Letter Communications. He and his wife, 1984 Notre Dame graduate Alecia Clippard Robert, have two children.

Siebert was Robert's teammate on the state championship baseball team in 1983. He also played on the state title team in 1984 and the third-place team of 1985. As a senior, he was the team MVP and won the pitching award. Siebert also played basketball in 1984 and 1985 -- both district championship seasons.

Siebert played baseball at Southeast Missouri State, where he was an all-conference player in 1988 and 1989.

Siebert is a business analyst at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Cape Girardeau. He and his wife, Diane, have three children.

Lynch was on the two state championship basketball teams in 1986 and 1987. He also was a two-time all-state selection in soccer. He had 49 goals in one season. Lynch also was a member of three final four baseball teams, and he hit .475 with 23 RBIs as a senior.

Lynch received both scholarship and baseball offers from Southeast Missouri State, from where he graduated in 1993. He has been in elementary and secondary education for the past 13 years as a teacher, a coach and a principal.

He still is involved in athletics, playing fast-pitch softball with a team from Madison, Wis. He was a member of the U.S. national team and has been on three ASA national championship teams and one world championship team.

Lynch and his wife, LaDonna, have four children.
