PERRYVILLE -- Notre Dame's girls basketball team received 25 points from Randi Senciboy to edge Perryville 60-58 Tuesday night and win the round-robin Perryville Tournament. Senciboy hit four 3-pointers and was the only Lady Bulldog to reach double figures. Notre Dame (2-0) will face St. Pius (0-2) tonight in tournament play, but already has clinched the tournament title with wins over Farmington (1-1) and Perryville (1-1)...

PERRYVILLE -- Notre Dame's girls basketball team received 25 points from Randi Senciboy to edge Perryville 60-58 Tuesday night and win the round-robin Perryville Tournament.

Senciboy hit four 3-pointers and was the only Lady Bulldog to reach double figures. Notre Dame (2-0) will face St. Pius (0-2) tonight in tournament play, but already has clinched the tournament title with wins over Farmington (1-1) and Perryville (1-1).

Perryville trailed 24-17 after one quarter and 35-31 at halftime. But the Lady Pirates eventually took the lead in the fourth quarter and led 58-56 with under two minutes left. Senciboy tied the score on a pair of free throws and with less than a minute left hit the game winner from about 12 feet out.

Renee Kaempfe also had a big game for Perryville with 25 points and April Watts added 15.

Scott County 82, Greenville 51

MORLEY -- The Lady Bravettes opened the season at home Tuesday with a comfortable win over Greenville.

Sophomore Vontrice Blackmon poured in 34 points to lead Scott County (1-0). Katie Griffin added 20 points and Ashley Whitson nine points and a team-high 15 boards. The Bravettes led 48-19 at halftime.

Amber Beckett scored 24 to lead Greenville.

Cape Central JV tourney

Poplar Bluff and Jackson will battle tonight for the championship of the Cape Central Junior Varsity Tournament after semifinal victories Tuesday night.

Bluff beat Cape Central 37-27 and Jackson topped Notre Dame 35-25. In the consolation bracket, Farmington beat Perryville 54-49 and Sikeston squeezed past New Madrid 35-34.

Tonight's action begins at the Cape Central Gymnasium with two games starting at 6 p.m. The championship and consolation title games follow at 7:30 p.m.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Zalma 84, Meadow Heights 68

PATTON -- Zalma got double-digit scoring from five different players to open its season with a road victory.

Josh Smith led the Bulldogs (1-0) with 15 points followed by Gandy Wade (14), Tim Burchett (13), Cory Stallings (12) and Chris Canoy (11). Teammates Ben Wallace and Josh Boland added nine and eight points respectively.

Meadow Heights (1-1) was led with 24 points from Kevin Weaver. Ronnie Laurentius added 16 points and Justin Brune 11.

Monday night, the Panthers opened the season under first-year coach Jeff Gravon with a 68-48 victory over Leopold.

Kevin Weaver led the Panthers with 19 points, followed by Laurentius with 15 and Jeremy Heine with 10.

Donnie Landewee had 18 points for Leopold.

Notre Dame JV Tournament

Four tight contests on Monday opened the first night of the Notre Dame Junior Varsity Tournament.

The host Bulldogs beat Farmington 60-48 to advance to the semifinals along with Cape Central, Poplar Bluff and Blytheville (Ark). Central beat Sikeston 53-52, Blytheville topped Charleston 48-47 and Bluff beat Jackson 56-48.

Mark Rubel led the JV Bulldogs with 15 points in their victory. Cape Central got 18 points from John Clark and 12 from Donnie McClinton in its one-point win. Sikeston's Brian Blissett led the JV Bulldogs with 12 points.

Jason Oehl scored 13 points for Jackson and Charleston's Terrence Gillespie 18 in losses.

Action continues tonight with Sikeston facing Jackson at 4 p.m. and Farmington against Charleston in consolation games. In the championship bracket, Central will play Poplar Bluff at 7 p.m. and Notre Dame plays Blytheville at 8:30 p.m.

The finals are scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

JR. HIGH BASKETBALL

SIKESTON -- Cape Central's junior high basketball teams dropped two games on the road Monday.

Despite 14 points from Chris Cole, the freshmen fell 39-36. The eighth grade lost 51-24.
