BENTON, Mo. -- Notre Dame's girls took first place at the Kelly Cross Country Invitational Saturday, while Kelly's boys took second place.
The Lady Bulldogs had four medalists (top 15), including overall runner-up Sarah Unterreiner who finished the 5K course in 23:47.30.
Perryville's Hannah Steffens took first place in 23:33 as the Lady Pirates finished second with 38 points, three points behind Notre Dame.
Kelly took third with 47 points.
On the boys' side, Poplar Bluff -- which had three runners in the top five places -- took first place with 44 points, while Kelly finished just behind with 45 points.
Kelly's Adam Lofton led the Hawks with a time of 18:02.20.

MCCLUER NORTH INVITATIONAL
ST. LOUIS -- Injuries prevented Jackson from fielding full varsity teams Saturday, but the junior varsity and freshman squads were impressive in a meet that consisted of some of the state's cross country powers.
Jackson's freshmen girls took second place, the JV girls took sixth and the freshmen boys took fifth.
"We felt pretty postitve about that," Jackson coach Andrea Talley said. "We're a young team and we're building on the future. We had some injuries so we're going to have to rely on some young kids."
Joe Golightly was Jackson's only varsity medalist. He took 29th in the 3.1-mile race in 17:58.
Northwest Invitational
ST. LOUIS -- Cape Central's boys and girls teams earned third-place victories in the 12-team race Saturday.
"It's as good or better than what we expected," Central coach Mark Hahn said. "We ran good enough to be optimistic about what we can accomplish at the end of the season."
Kim Pancoast finished seventh for the Lady Tigers in 19:47.
Trever Duncan and Jake Knepp both finished in 17:11 to take 12th and 13th.

SECKMAN TOURNAMENT
ST. LOUIS -- Jackson lost three of four games, winning the first 7-5 over Lindbergh.
Ashley Snell picked up the win. She allowed four earned runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out three.
Jeanna Bolen went 3-for-4 with a double for the Lady Indians (3-8); Shantel Childers went 2-for-3 with a triple and Casey Hobeck went 2-for-3 with a triple.
Oakville beat Jackson 8-2 in the second game as Heather Tuschhoff allowed eight runs on 12 hits with no walks or strikeouts. Jackson had just three hits that game.
Melissa Sander went 2-for-2 in Jackson's 7-3 loss to Hillsboro. Hobeck took the loss, allowing four earned runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out four.
The Lady Indians managed just three hits and made seven errors in their final game of the day, a 6-2 loss to Kirkwood. Snell suffered the loss despite allowing only two hits and two earned runs.

Notre Dame trailed 2-0 at halftime, but managed to tie St. Louis University High's junior team.
The host Bulldogs (3-1-1) got goals from Timmy Wencewicz and Scott Wittenborn.
Andy Arnzen and Jeff Brosey had assists.
"We actually played pretty decent," Notre Dame coach Jeff Worley said. "A couple of breakdowns in the first half cost us goals."
Notre Dame's junior varsity dropped to 1-1 with a 9-0 loss to SLUH's sophomore team.
Francis Howell North Tournament
ST. LOUIS -- Cape Central split two games Saturday, first beating Washington 4-1, then losing to Francis Howell Central 1-0 in the fifth-place game.
Howell North's only goal was a 30-yard shot that found the corner of the goal.
"Other than that it was a 50-50 game," Central coach Tom Doyle said. "They had some good chances and we had some good chances, we just couldn't put it in the net."
Central (5-3-1) got a goal and an assist from Clint Hoffman and Arthur Pilsner against Washington.
Chris Limbaugh and Grant Hengst also scored goals, while Clint Hoffman and Heath Orr added assists.
