Perryville 60, Fredericktown 44

FREDERICKTOWN -- In one of the stranger games this season, Fredericktown could muster just two first-half points in a loss to visiting Perryville Monday night.

Perryville built a 13-0 lead in the first quarter and led 25-2 at the break. The Blackcats shook the funk in the second half, outscoring Perryville 42-35.

"They had some pretty good shots and none of them fell," said Perryville coach Dean Lewis. "That was pretty strange in their own gym."

It marked the second time this season Perryville (2-4) held an opponent scoreless in the first quarter.

"They're a pretty decent team," said Lewis. "They have some good players. I don't know what it was all about. They got 23 points in the third quarter, so they're capable of scoring."
