The Notre Dame boys soccer team slipped past Festus St. Pius 3-2 on Friday in the semifinals of the annual Notre Dame SoccerFest.

Notre Dame (3-0) received goals from Ryan Willen, Josh Robert and Ty Williams.

In the other semifinal, Jackson edged Carbondale, Ill., 2-1.

Notre Dame and Jackson will meet at 7 p.m. today for the title.

Also Friday, in the consolation bracket, Central beat Marion, Ill., 3-0 as Brooks Osburne scored all three goals.

Central will play Sikeston at 5 p.m. today in the consolation final.

VOLLEYBALLWoodland tournament

Leopold beat host Woodland 25-17, 25-13 to capture the championship.

Cassie Seiler had 19 assists and four digs to lead to the Wildcats (2-0). Cassi Jensen and Casey Bucher led in kills with five each.

Woodland (3-1) was paced in kills by Chelsea Morris, Lauren Johnson and Jessica Santi with five apiece. Brandi Killian had nine assists.

In other matches, Meadow Heights beat Saxony Lutheran 25-18, 25-16 for third place and Oak Ridge downed Zalma 25-22, 25-22 for the consolation title.

Notre Dame Volleyballfest

St. Vincent won two matches in Notre Dame's annual tournament, beating the host squad 25-17, 25-15 and Central 25-15, 25-20.

Sara Moll led in digs and Lacey Siegmund led in assists in both matches for St. Vincent (3-0).

Perryville beat Caruthersville 25-15, 25-16 and split with Marshfield, winning the first game 25-17 and losing the second game 26-24.

Liz Martin paced Perryville against Caruthersville with 21 digs and 16 blocks.

GIRLS TENNISGreat 8 tournament

Central dropped two matches in the Great 8 tournament in Columbia, Mo, falling to Columbia Rock Bridge 7-2 and Belleville (Ill.) West 8-1.

Lindsey Pingel won both her singles matches for the Tigers, while Kristi Lazarova won against Rock Bridge.
