Central and Notre Dame finished second and third, respectively, out of 15 teams Monday in the Notre Dame Invitational golf tournament at Brent Creek Golf Course in Jackson.
Blake Driskell led Central with an 80 for an eighth-place finish overall. Central's Kirk Lohmann and Notre Dame's Jon Blattel tied for ninth at 82.
Gabe Sauer shot an 84 and led Jackson to a sixth place finish. St. Vincent placed 11th and was led by Zach Richardet's 89.
Poplar Bluff won the team title by bettering the runner-up by 33 strokes. The Mules' Tyler Hillis and Josh Dowdy tied for medalist at 3-over 75.

Festus used a big fifth inning to hand a loss to St. Vincent in its season opener at home.
The Indians trailed throughout, with Fesuts building a 9-1 lead after 4 1/2 innings. St. Vincent scored two in the fifth, two in the sixth and scored one in the seventh to close the gap. St Vincent had the bases loaded when Festus recorded the final out.
Waylon Richardet and Kyle Kline had two hits apiece. Kline also had two RBIs. Justin Ruessler took the loss after going four innings. Ruessler allowed four runs, one earned, on five hits.

Lauren Mehner scored Notre Dame's first goal of the season five minutes into the second overtime to give the Bulldogs (1-1) a road victory over district opponent Sikeston. The goal came off a free kick from 20 yards out.
Laura Muir recorded the shutout.
