The Poplar Bluff Mules Junior High School baseball team stays perfect after landing a 15-0 win over Caruthersville on Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Kameron Holland was the leading player who led the Mules to victory by collecting three hits at-bats. Holland doubled in the first inning, doubled in the second inning, and singled in the first inning.

The Mules got rolling in the first inning and never looked back. They pulled away early by bringing in nine runs with their first shot at the plate. Cristian Acevedo was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Camden Donnell was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Ryker Hampton singled, scoring one run, Cash Laffoon drew a walk, scoring one run, Holland doubled, scoring three runs, Brayton Baldwin singled, scoring one run and Cason Tice singled, scoring one run.

After a quick three and out from their intense defense, Poplar Bluff scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. Hampton singled, scoring two runs, Holland doubled, scoring one run, and Tice singled, scoring two runs. The Mules would close out the game by adding one more run in the third after a single base hit from Laffoon.

Payden Fowler earned the win for the Mules from the mound. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking none. Caruthersville’s pitcher took the loss by going one and two-thirds innings, giving up 14 runs on 12 hits, striking out one and walking five.

The Mules had a field day at the plate as they tallied 13 hits in the game. Tice, Holland, and Hampton each drove in three runs for Poplar Bluff, while Acevedo and Laffoon each collected multiple hits. The Mules kept Caruthersville on their toes around the diamond by snagging seven stolen bases for the game. Poplar Bluff was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.

Poplar Bluff Mules JH will travel to Cape for their next game on Thursday.
