Despite the short run in the football playoffs, the Poplar Bluff Mules still saw individual success by having multiple players receive high honors for their performance on the field and in the classroom.
The Mules finished with a 5-5 record on the sea-son and finished as the number one seed in their dis-trict. Senior Logan Hite received the highest honor of making the All-State team after a solid season at the linebacker position. He led his conference with 113 tackles, including 59 solo tackles and nine tackles for a loss.
The Mules’ offense slowly found their footing during the second half of the season, leading them on a mild winning streak heading into the playoffs. They collected 1,110 yards rushing, led by the All-District and All-Academic quarterback Jay Edmundson, with 626 yards.
The Mules didn’t have any issues airing out the ball this season by snagging 151 catches on 1,828 yards receiving, led by the duo of Darius Graham and Romeoh Wontor, who combined for 1,406 yards and 10 touchdowns.
