It took a scoreless half and several chances but the Poplar Bluff Mules took down Sikeston 2-1 on Thursday at Mules Stadium for its second-straight SEMO Conference win and its second-straight district victory.

With the win, Poplar Bluff has now won four in a row and five of its last six matches dating back to Sept. 1.

During its win streak, Poplar Bluff has outscored opponents 11-2.

The Mules host Fredericktown on Monday then hit the road for a matchup with West Plains next Thursday.

With Thursday’s match against Sikeston being just their ninth game of the season, the Mules still have 12 matches before district play begins.

Senior Cody Dearborn and junior Caden Hambrick were responsible for landing goals for the Mules, while Darrious Wallace handled business on the defensive end with 10 saves.
