After cutting the deficit to four late in the third quarter, the Poplar Bluff Mules couldn't get any closer to the Kickapoo Chiefs as they fell 57-38 in their season opener on Saturday at PBHS.
Marlon Hickman scored 11 points to lead the Mules in their opener as he was the only double figure scorer for PB.
Kickapoo's Jackson Shorter and Reese Kimrey each finished with 19 points for the Chiefs.
Poplar Bluff next plays in the Rolla "Duke" Herbet Classic at Crystal City High School. The Mules play the St. Louis Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 28.
