COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The University of Missouri posted a comfortable victory over Southeast Missouri State University in a dual gymnastics meet on Sunday.
Missouri, with strong performances by Lindsay Davis, Lindsay Nervig and Alina Hamm, finished with a 191.150 total. Southeast, led by Stephanie Furman, totaled 187.850.
Davis edged out Nervig in the all-around competition with a 38.775 combined score. Nerving finished with a 38.625 total and Furman was third at 38.275.
Furman and Hamm each won two individual events.
Furman shared top honors with Davis in the balance beam with a 9.725, and shared first in the vault with teammate Ashley Godwin, both posting scores of 9.750.
Hamm tied Nervig with a 9.875 in the uneven parallel bars as Missouri finished with the top five scores in the event. Hamm won the floor exercise with a score of 9.775, leading a 1-2 with Nervig. Furman placed third in the event at 9.700.
Southeast returns to action Saturday when it will hold a 7 p.m. meet at the Show Me Center.
