COLUMBIA — Volleyball fans will notice something different at the Missouri State High School Activities Association state championships this year.
That’s because MSHSAA has adopted a new official ball. Kiss your Badens goodbye.
The Mikasa VFC 1000 volleyball will be used at the tournament, it features the same colors as MSHSAA’s logo — red, white and blue.
The state also announced official championship contest balls in other sports: baseball, softball, football, soccer and basketball.
These will be used for the 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years. MSHSAA reported in a press release there was a “competitive proposal process.”
“We are thrilled by the engagement and support we receive from our official contest ball partners,” new MSHSAA executive director Dr. Jennifer Rukstad said in that press release.
“We collectively strive to provide the best postseason experiences possible for our member schools and the students they serve,” Rukstad added.
