The Southeast MissourI State softball team was undone by three errors in the opener of a doubleheader against Morehead State and a solo home run in the nightcap as the host Eagles swept the visiting Redhawks on Sunday.

Morehead State improved to 23-21 overall and 10-9 in the Ohio Valley Conference with victories of 6-1 and 1-0.

Southeast (13-30, 7-14) pulled even in the opener on a Darby Pruett double in the second, but the Eagles pushed across four runs in the third inning to seize control.

Dana Hutchin provided the first of the third-inning runs when she blasted a solo home run off Southeast starter Madeline Krumrey to break a 1-1 deadlock.

Krumrey (5-12) allowed four hits and five runs over 2 2/3 innings, striking out two and walking three.

Winning pitcher Mackenzie Grossmann (8-13) allowed seven hits in going the distance. She struck out six and walked one.

Abby Tillotson accounted for two of the Redhawks' hits.

Karly Thompson provided the lone run in the nightcap when she broke up a no-hitter by Southeast freshman Haley Thogmartin (8-9) with a leadoff home run in the fifth.

Allison Rager won the pitcher's duel, allowing four hits. Rager walked five batters, including the bases loaded in the fourth inning, and struck out three.

Thogmartin allowed three hits and struck out four in five innings. Mackenzie Hoelting pitched a hitless sixth.

Southeast returns to action at 3 p.m. Wednesday when it will host Missouri in a doubleheader.
