Southeast Missouri State (21-17) used a dominant three-game sweep against Tennessee Tech (10-24) to improve to 10-2 in Ohio Valley Conference play.

The Redhawks won 10-1 on Friday and 5-4 on Saturday to secure the series before taking an 8-6 win at Capaha Field on Sunday afternoon to sweep the visiting Golden Eagles.

Chance Resetich, Lincoln Andrews and Danny Sperling all finished with three hits in the win, with Andrews driving in two RBIs, tied for the team lead with Josh Cameron and Peyton Leeper.

Resetich and Sperling both doubled in the win, with Cameron grabbing the only other extra-base hit for the Redhawks.

After allowing six runs – five earned – between starter Hadne Dow and Collin Wilma through 4.1 innings, Fischer Rausch came in for relief, pitching 2.0 innings without allowing a hit, striking out four and walking two.

Esteban Hernandez earned his first win of the season in relief after Rausch exited the game, while Kyle Miller earned his fifth save of the season after closing out the ninth.

The Redhawks next play at 4 p.m. on Friday at Morehead State (21-13) in the first game of a three-game series in Morehead, Ken.

Southeast Missouri State softball (24-9) continued its hot streak over the weekend with a dominant sweep against Ohio Valley Conference and in-state rival Lindenwood on the road.

The Redhawks took both games of a Saturday doubleheader, opening with a 5-3 victory before taking a lopsided 15-0 win in five innings. The Redhawks earned the series sweep with a 6-4 win to make it 10 straight wins while winning 13 straight conference games.

Starting pitcher Delaney Kell pitched a complete game to take the win for the Redhawks, allowing 10 hits, one walk and two hit-by-pitches, earning four runs while striking out four batters on 111 total pitches. Kell’s season record stands at 12-3 with the win, leading all Redhawks in total wins.

Second baseman Abigail Rickermann led the Redhawk offense with three hits in the win, while infielder Sydney Dennis’ two RBIs on two hits served as a game-high mark. Paige Halliwill, Alyson Tucker, Kat Sackett and Aubrie Shore all drove in runs for Southeast Missouri State. Shore reached base four times, twice on hits and twice more on walks.

The team is next in action at 12 p.m. on Tuesday at Iowa State (14-25) of the Big 12 Conference, playing a doubleheader in Ames, Iowa.
