Poplar Bluff (1-1) earned its first win of the season by downing Jackson (2-2) by a 7-2 margin at home on Tuesday afternoon.
Freshman Jeramy Essner and sophomore Conner Strickland earned the sole two wins of the day for the Indians on the singles courts, winning by 8-5 and 8-2 margins respectively.
Poplar Bluff’s Angelo Sorrentino, Tavian Towns, Carson Todd and Isaac Cato all won singles matches, while the Mules swept the doubles courts to secure a 7-2 win against the Indians.
Jackson next hosts Cape Central (2-1) at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
