Chaffee 13, St. Pius X 0

The Chaffee Red Devils defeated the St. Pius X Lancers 13-0 in five innings on Wednesday at St. Pius X High School in Festus.

Chaffee was led by Reese Van Pelt who went 2-3 with four RBIs and a walk. In the circle for the Red Devils, Carlyanne Cossou pitched the full game and finished with four strikeouts, three walks and allowed just three hits.

Chaffee will travel to Doniphan to take on the Dons on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Tennis

Jackson 9, Charleston 0

The Jackson Indians defeated the Charleston Blue Jays 9-0 on Wednesday at Charleston High School.

In singles play, Jackson swept the Blue Jays 6-0 with Ella Montgomery, Tessa Quade and Keira Crawford wach winning their matches 8-0.

In doubles play, Jackson swept the Blue Jays 3-0 with the team of Caroline Selzer and Bailey Rees along with the team of Gracyn Cox and Melanie Nugent winning their matches 8-0.

Jackson will travel to Saxony Lutheran to battle the Crusaders on Thursday at 4 p.m.
