Cape Central stayed undefeated against in-state competition on Tuesday night by taking down Park Hills Central (22-3) by a final score of 80-71.

With the Rebels hanging within three points of the Tigers at the end of the third quarter, the Tigers let loose with a 28-point outburst in the fourth quarter to put away Park Hills Central and improve to 24-1 on the season.

Park Hills Central received a combined 59 points from Jobe Bryant (33) and Mason Williams (26), pacing the Tigers for most of the game. A big-time, 32-point performance from veteran center Cameron Williams kept the Tigers in key position to win the game, however, scoring 11 of his 32 in the fourth quarter alone.

TySeandre’ Edwards (17), Jaydon Reynolds (16), Marquel Murray (7), LaTroy McIntosh (6) and Maurice Boyd (2) all chipped in for Cape Central in the win.

The Tigers conclude the regular season with their highly-anticipated and once-rescheduled matchup against the Christian Brothers College Cadets at home at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. CBC is 14-10 this year, with six of those losses coming from its intense national schedule.

__GBB: Advance 54, Meadow Heights 49__

Advance (6-18) pulled off quite the upset to open district play on Tuesday night, defeating Meadow Heights (17-9) by a final score of 54-49.

Kaylee Cline led the Hornets with 17 points in the win, followed by Maggie Stubenrauch (14), Natalee Roper (10), Harley Daniels (7) and Alexis Hoffman (6).

Rachel Hellebusch led Meadow Heights with 21 points in the loss, with Jaycee Shelton (14), Ashley Allen (11), Kinley Burr (2) and Madisen Denman (1) all pitching in for the Panthers.

Advance moves on to play at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday night against Oran (15-9).

__GBB: Oak Ridge 64, Couch 48__

Oak Ridge (10-14) continued its record-breaking season by opening district play with a 64-48 win against Couch (7-14) on Tuesday night.

“We earned our 10th win for a double-digit win record, and this is the first time in program history that we have won a postseason game,” Oak Ridge coach Julie Ward said. “I am very proud to be their coach and have enjoyed watching them grow this year.”

Standout sophomore Reagan Howe put up yet another double-double in the Oak Ridge win, scoring 29 points to pair with 14 rebounds. Meanwhile, Madyson Ruehling (18), Abby Morrison (5), Katie Seabaugh (3), MaKayla Rangel (3), Hailey Ward (2) and Mia Friese (2) all joined in on the scoring action for the Bluejays.

The Bluejays next play at 6 p.m. on Thursday against Delta (22-3).
