The Chaffee Red Devils defeated the Meadow Heights Panthers 6-3 on Wednesday at Chaffee High School.
The offense of Chaffee was led by junior Levi McKinnie who went 2-3 with two RBIs, McKinnie also pitched the full seven innings finishing with eight strikeouts and two walks.
The Panther offense was led by sophomore Drew Thorne who went 3-4 with one RBI while scoring once himself. Sophomore Braeden Hays saw most of the work on the mound with a total of six strikeouts and two walks.
The Red Devils struck first with an RBI single from McKinnie in the second before Meadow Heights grabbed the lead back with a fielders choice and error in the fourth. Meadow Heights held a 3-1 going into the bottom of the sixth when Chaffee exploded for five runs with a couple of singles, a wild pitch and a double for McKinnie.
Chaffee is next at home against South Pemiscot at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday while Meadow Heights will travel to Scott City at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
__St. Pius X (Festus) 6, St. Vincent 2__
The St. Pius X Lancers defeated the St. Vincent Indians 6-3 on Wednesday at St. Pius X High School.
The offense of St. Vincent was led by freshman Tyler Hennemann who went 2-2 with a walk and an RBI. Senior Blake Monier pitched four innings with seven strikeouts and three walks before being relieved by senior Trevor Moonier.
The two runs for the Indians came in the fourth inning when junior Christian Schaaf crossed the plate off a sophomore Jacob Seabaugh groundball and when the Lancer pitcher walked in a run.
St. Vincent will play Chester High School (IL) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
__Windsor 10, Perryville 2__
The Windsor Owls defeated the Perryville Pirates 10-2 on Wednesday at Windsor High School.
The offense of the Pirates was led by junior Adam Green who went 2-2 with both of the RBIs for Perryville. Senior Dean Lauck and juniors Logan Hoehn and Caleb Triller combined for six strikeouts and six walks on the mound.
Both runs were scored by Lauck off a single by Green in the first and a double from Green in the third.
Perryville will play Windsor again at home at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
